Last Event
On Sunday, October 29th, 2023, over 200 volunteers from the New York & Northern New Jersey Metropolitan area turned out to care for and entertain over 150 children and adults with disabilities (and their siblings) while their parents were blessed with an afternoon out on the town including a complimentary lunch for two.
Activities for our guests included music, games, pony rides, pumpkin painting, canvas painting, hayrides, bounce house, carnival games, video game truck, a fire truck and numerous other activities hosted by Resurgent Church, 3545 Route 206, Far Hills, NJ. Before and after lunch our guests were treated to snow cones, cotton candy and popcorn while they took in a movie on the big screen: “Disney’s The Little Mermaid ''. Over 30 of the 90+ families were ‘first timers’ while the rest were returning guests from our events over the last ten years.
Local area restaurants all pitched in toward treating the parents to a complimentary lunch at the restaurant of their choice. Including:

... and numerous other area junior high and high schools were among the many volunteers who teamed up with members of Resurgent Church to spend quality one-on-one time with our guests. Generous donations from members of our community helped cover all the afternoon’s expenses.
The parents were all smiles as they returned from their ‘date afternoon’ to find their children having a great time – some just didn’t want to leave! Volunteers marveled at what an incredible blessing it was to spend quality time with these wonderful children. Thank you notes abounded after the latest events (see testimonials).
